NJOMBE MAIN MARKET TRADERS RECEIVE TRAINING ON CLEAN COOKING ENERGY ADOPTION

Traders at Njombe Main Market have undergone comprehensive training on the adoption of clean cooking energy, as part of an ongoing campaign to promote a transition from environmentally harmful and health‑hazardous fuels such as firewood and charcoal.

Emiliana Muhagama, one of the beneficiaries of the program, explained that the sessions provided traders with valuable insights into the operational benefits of integrating clean cooking energy sources such as gas and electricity into their daily business activities.

“This initiative has greatly enhanced our understanding of the advantages of clean energy, particularly in reducing environmental pollution and protecting our health from the respiratory risks associated with wood and charcoal smoke,” she stated.

Ms. Muhagama further emphasized that the shift to clean energy improves efficiency by reducing cooking times, enabling traders to manage their businesses more effectively.

In her closing remarks, she urged women and fellow entrepreneurs to embrace clean cooking solutions to safeguard both their well-being and the environment. She stressed that energy sources like gas and electricity are not only safer and more time‑efficient but also vital for conservation efforts that will sustain future generations.
